Research indicates that arts programs requiring 'sequential learning,' the same kind of learning required in math, seem to increase participants' math aptitude. First and second graders who took part in a Kodaly-method music program scored higher on math aptitude tests than non-participants.

Research indicates that cuddling skin-to-skin with babies born prematurely seems to help the babies maintain higher oxygen levels than babies who are cuddled by their fully clothed mothers. Mothers who cuddle their babies skin-to-skin also seem to produce a more stable supply of milk.

A new technique identified 16 of 18 children who had been diagnosed as having ADHD through conventional methods. An infrared motion-analysis system tracked each child's movements 50 times per second while the child completed a 15-minute test on a computer.
