Success for engine makers

Article Abstract:

German manufacturers of diesel ship engines managed to post a 12% increase in sales for 1994 despite decline in the domestic market due to increasing competition. This is attributed by industry analysts to the rise in the export sales to the Far East and the decision by engine builders to increase their products' power output range by as much as 25%. However, not all engine builders were able to offset their losses in the domestic market.
