Cable boom busted

Article Abstract:

Ulstein Verft is converting offshore vessel, Normand Clipper, which was delivered by the yard to Solstad in 2001.The two companies have entered into an agreement wherein Ulstein will convert Normand Clipper and deliver it to Solstad by May 2005. The conversion involves pipe-laying vessel with a large freight capacity.

Improving tanks' corrosion resistance

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the study which has been undertaken by the US Navy into the quality of the coatings used to protect the tanks on ships from corrosion of weld seams, edges and angles. The cost of tank maintenance is discussed.
