Electric sideloader/reach truck

Article Abstract:

Baumann Handling Systems Inc. makes the 6,600-pound-capacity Quaddro EC4U four-directional-travel combined sideloader and reach truck. The truck has a footprint of 78 by 78 inches and a mast travel of 39 inches. It can lift a 6,000-pound load 16 feet with no down rating. The truck's drive arrangement is made up of two independently powered drive units that also steer and brake. A direct current motor powers each of the drive wheels via angle gearing. Both the hydraulic pump and drive units are controlled by a sophisticated MOSFET-based microprocessor controller.

"The Beast" handles load in one motion

Article Abstract:

Baker Material Handling Corp.'s Linde-Baker H160-1200 counterbalanced lift truck has a rated capacity of 35,000 lbs, with full capacity to 241 in of lift at 48-in load center. The truck, which is popularly called "The Beast," features a heated cab, three wiper/washer systems, integral sideshift and fork positioning as well as a multi-function hydraulic control handle. The Beast's all-hydraulic steering, pneumatic brakes and pneumatically assisted control levers for its working hydraulic system guarantee efficiency despite its immense size.

Heavy-duty lift trucks

Article Abstract:

Daewoo Heavy Industries America Corp.'s G5 Series heavy-duty lift trucks have a load-carrying capacity of 4,000 to 6,000 lb. Daewoo's heavy-duty trucks, which are available with the Daewoo 3.3 liter diesel engine or the Hercules 2.7 liter gasoline and LP gas engine, feature an automatic glow-plug system for easy start. The trucks, wherein enclosed oil-cooled disc brakes are standard, also feature a power-reversal transmission, where a control valve is located on top to modulate clutch oil pressure.
