Technological advances have improved the quality of natural turf for sports facilities. Developments include use of selective weedkillers, hard wearing grass strains and improved growing techniques. Soil-free turf roots quickly. Rolawn Ltd, Inturf Ltd and Tillers Turf Company supply turf in 25 square yard rolls. Notts Sport, Netlon Ltd and Tillers Fibreturf produce reinforced turf. Incorporation of fibre or netting increases durability.

Beck's fugue: the folk-rap star's success shows the importance of being earnest and ironic for a new generation
