Follow-up in international mail surveys

Article Abstract:

The mail survey system is an important tool for researchers in the tourism industry. One method of improving the validity of data collected in this manner is to provide a follow-up questionnaire to the initial one sent. Studies conducted in this area showed that the validity of the technique is sketchy and inconclusive at best since there was no significant change in the responses surveys with follow-up letters and those without follow-up letters.

Price value perceptions of travelers

Article Abstract:

An important factor to consider in tourism marketing research is the price value perceptions of tourists. These perceptions are of a subjective nature since they measure the pleasure derived by the tourist in relation to actual expenses incurred. A study of these perceptions was conducted by members of Canada's tourism industry to determine the competitiveness of Canada as a tourist destination.
