Mood swings

Article Abstract:

There are 436 themed pub and bars in the UK in 1997, compared with 15 in 1992, with sales increasing from 8 million pounds sterling in 1992 to 282 million pounds sterling in 1997, according to a Mintel report. The market is predicted to double by 2001. Important growth themes will be sports and Australian bars, as interest in football and the Sydney Olympics increases. The market in memorabilia for themed pubs has also grown, with original articles becoming very expensive and replicas much in demand. Themed bars in hotels are also becoming more popular.

Macro cinema

Article Abstract:

The documentary film 'Microcosmos' is quite an extraordinary film because of the years that were invested into its production and the battery of equipment which was specially designed and created in order to film the micro-universe of a community of insects. The live action narrative movie depicts a typical 24-hour day in the life of ants, including their interaction with other insects, and puts new meaning into the term 'close up.'
