Athlete, Daley Thompson is endorsing Queens Moat Houses Hotels (QMH) health and fitness clubs. The hotel chain owns a total of 23 leisure clubs, which are to be branded Club Moativation, these include swimming pools and other facilities. QMH also owns 19 smaller clubs, called Bodyclubs, featuring a gym, sauna, steamroom, or solarium. Thompson is expected to appear in promotional videos and make personal appearances at the clubs.

The Business in Sport and Leisure (BISL) conference, held at Lancaster Gate, London, discussed deregulation and how to apply for lottery funds. Four lottery distributing bodies presented papers at the conference and suggested that the first awards which are to be made in March 1995, will be made to quality and viable schemes. Lottery funds are not expected to be awarded to profit-distributing organisations.

Rosemary Conley

Exercise instructor, Rosemary Conley, is to relaunch the FitKid concept in a move to boost the fitness of children. Conley is more well known for her hip and thigh diet and the Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Clubs, which are run by franchisees UK-wide. The FitKid programme has been bought from founder Mary Morris, and it is to be launched with a new logo, and targeted at schools.
