Bacteria and eukaryotes

Article Abstract:

Eukaryotes should not be reclassified as synkaryotes or eukarya since the existing term is accurate and clear. Moreover, to use either of the proposed terms would violate biological nomenclature's traditional resistance to changes that are not plainly needed. The term 'eukaryote' denotes simply 'well-developed nucleus' and is therefore entirely suitable. The proposed changes also ignore the fundamental difference between the eukaryotes and the bacteria.

RPA governs endonuclease switching during processing of Okazaki fragments in eukaryotes

Article Abstract:

It has been established that the endonucleases Dna2 and Fen1 function sequentially to allow the complete removal of the primer RNA of Okazaki fragments. It is concluded that processing of Okazaki fragments in eukaryotes is very different from that arising in prokaryotes.

Parabasalian flagellates are ancient eukaryotes

Article Abstract:

The gene from parabasalian flagellates does not have two deletions found in other eukaryotic enolases. This suggests that Parabasalia could be the most ancient eukaryotes investigated so far.
