Developmental model for thalidomide action

Article Abstract:

Tabin's progress-zone model explaining the inhibition of limb morphogenesis by thalidomide does not convincingly explain the main actions of thalidomide action. Factors that should be considered to explain the teratogenic action of thalidomide have previously been listed. An alternative explanation is also based on a lack of cells in the proximal area of the limb buds, and suggests that thalidomide inhibits cell migration prior to the start of apical ectodermal ridge (AER) function.

Evidence for laser action driven by electrochemiluminescence

Article Abstract:

Research has established a device for improving the process of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) using laser action. The ECL laser, illustrated, contains mirror and half-mirror platinum electrodes on quartz substrates. The low-intensity ECL spectrum is illustrated.
