Female preference for specific pulse duration of male songs in the grasshopper, Omocestus viridulus

Article Abstract:

A study exploring the female preference for specific pulse duration of male songs in the grasshopper was conducted. Results indicatethat all females in the sample responded to songs in all pulse durations but there was a significant difference in the probability of response for songs with a pulse duration of approximately 80 ms, which approximates the pulse duration of natural songs, which is about 76 ms.
