HIV clearance in an infant?

Article Abstract:

The research finding that an HIV-infected infant managed to clear the disease was based on less strict confirmations of the initial infection than are used in the UK and may have involved laboratory contamination. However, the researchers state that the strain was dissimilar from any in the laboratory and the confirmations both met other standards and were limited by the small available sample in retrospect. Some scientists feel the lack of virus matching between infant and mother and the limited number of tests confirming the initial infection make the findings suspect.

No longer the "Pitcairn Nike"

Article Abstract:

The 1.12 meter high Glencairn Minerva-Victoria statue, known as the Pitcairn Nike, is held at the Glencairn Museum in Pennsylvania. Isotope analysis using radioactive oxygen and carbon suggests that the statue was sculptured from Parian lychnites marble from Paros island in Greece. The statue may have originally stood in the ancient city of Cyrene, Greece, in the second century.
