1992: about Aperture

Article Abstract:

Seventy prominent photographers have contributed a photo with a short prose piece discussing their work, Aperture magazine and the interaction of both in this 40th Anniversary issue. Among the photographers contributing are Josef Koudelka, Ray Metzker, Sylvia Plachy, Donna Ferrato, Eugene Richards, Beaumont Newhall, Eudora Welty, John McWilliams, Daido Moriyama, Larry Fink, David McDermott, Peter McGough, Alex Webb, Sally Mann, Maggie Steber, Chuck Close, Helen Levitt, Brian Weil, Walter Rosenblum, Ralph Gibson, Sebastio Salgado, Robert Adams, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Brett Weston, Carrie Mae Weems, David Goldblatt, William Christenberry, Debbie Fleming Caffery, Jock Sturges, Harry Callahan, William Short and front cover by Robert Rauschenberg.

William H. Hale

Article Abstract:

Retired animal science professor and expert William H. Hale died on Feb 8, 1998, at his home in Tucson, AZ. Hale specialized in the training of animal science graduate students, mentoring them over the years, and addressing the needs of the feedlot cattle industry. His principal research contributions were in ruminant nutrition and beef cattle feeding management. His research on cereal grain steam processing and flaking is nationally and internationally recognized and applied.
