Jinxed lynx? Some very difficult questions with few simple answers

Article Abstract:

Mixed views have been expressed about the reintroduction of Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) to parts of Colorado where this animal was once present in large numbers. Some observers feel that this experiment should not have gone ahead because there will be insufficient food for the translocated animals. Furthermore, it is likely that more lynx will have to be trapped in Canada to meet demand for pelts. It is clear that there are many complex issues associated with reintroduction programmes. In some cases, good intentions alone are not sufficient.

A very cool customer

Article Abstract:

Discovery of brown dwarfs Teide 1 and 2, and PPl 15 has put an end to speculation regarding the existence of such stars. Further, the discovery of an object called Gleise 229B may fill the gap between jovian planets and low-mass stars. Gleise 229B, with an estimated weight of 0.02 solar masses, is the smallest and the coolest among the known brown dwarfs. Other known dwarfs are in the range of 0.8 solar masses.
