Michael Rudnicki: Taking everything to another level

Article Abstract:

Michael Rudnicki, senior scientist and director at Ottawa Health Research Institute discusses his partnership relationships with emerging Canadian companies in stem cell research and biotech companies like Invitrogen that design stem cell technologies. He feels that many investigators of stem cell research have left the U.S. and moved to the U.K., as they could not do their work with embryonic stem cells.

Article Abstract:

Granulocyte Colony Stimulating Factor (GCSF) is the four-letter sum up which shows how and why of Australian biomedical research stands. It was discovered by Don Metcalf at Melbourne's Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, GCSF is a hormone-like protein that stimulates certain bone marrow cells to make specialized white blood cells.
