Modeling movement and fidelity of American black ducks

Article Abstract:

An estimate of movements and fidelity for multiple breeding strata of black ducks using band-recovery models is presented. The estimates of fidelity rates suggest that the changes in distribution of black ducks cannot be attributed to changes in migratory patterns and fidelity to breeding strata, and they indicate that western, central and eastern breeding black ducks are equally likely to return to their respective breeding strata.

Modeling regional waterfowl harvest rates using markov chain Monte Carlo

Article Abstract:

Several models for simultaneous inference on movement and harvest rates, and factors influencing harvest rates, using band- recovery data and Markov chain Monte Carlo modeling are developed. These models are used to generate posterior predictive distributions for harvest rates as a function of harvest regulations, for application to adaptive harvest management.
