Article Abstract:

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the California governor, called for the state to cut down its greenhouse-gas emissions to 80% of 1990 levels by 2050 and helping him to accomplish this is a team of state energy-conservation experts. The state's electricity use per capita presently is the lowest in the nation at 6,800 kilo-watt-hours and the strategies that helped California achieve those conservation goals that might help it in its greenhouse-gas cuts.

Europe moves to secure its future energy supply

Article Abstract:

The European Commission called for a radical shift towards a low-carbon economy through its proposal recommends a combination of regulatory and technological measures to secure the future energy supply of the European Union (EU) and to reduce the risk of dangerous climate change. The report states that the package would help to cut the EU's green house-gas emissions by at least 20% by 2020.

Article Abstract:

European Union's head of states met in March 2007 for discussion of plan of action drawn in January 2007 by European commission to cut down greenhouse gas emissions. The plan is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20 to 30 percent by the year 2020 to arrest global warming.
