Fuhgeddaboutit: talking like a New Yorker is not the same as talking like a Noo Yawker

Article Abstract:

Elisions of the English language which results in the typical accent of New Yorkers are examined. Foreign writers must be careful in transcribing these sounds, or the results will not be authentic. A brief discussion of the term 'experienced with,' used as jargon in drug news reporting, is discussed.

An American decides to follow Hemingway's advice and watch a Spanish bullfight without prejudice, only judging later on what was actually seen. The grotesque butchering of six dazed animals is graphically described. No bravery by men nor swift noble death by the bulls was exhibited.
