Targeting the DNA repair defect in BRCA mutant cells as a therapeutic strategy

Article Abstract:

A study conducted shows that BRCA1 or BRCA2 dysfunction unexpectedly and profoundly sensitizes cells to the inhibition of PARP enzymatic activity. This results into chromosomal instability, which in turn causes cell cycle arrest and finally apoptosis.

The tumour suppressor CYLD negatively regulates NF-(kappa)B signalling by deubiquitination

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on NF-(kappa)B transcription factors. The authors report that tumour suppressor CYLD which is mutated in familial cylinreomatosis interacts with I(kappa)B kinase-gamma, the regulatory subunit of I(kappa)B kinase.

CYLD is a deubiquitinating enzyme that negatively regulates NF-(kappa)B activation by TNFR family members

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on CYLD protein. The authors have demonstrated that this protein is a deubiquitinating enzyme which regulates negatively transcription factor NF-(kappa)B activation via specific tumour-necrosis factor receptors.
