Tyrosine kinase receptor RET is a key regulator of Peyer's Patch organogenesis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to show that the haematopoietic cells in the gut exhibit a random pattern of motility before aggregation into the primordia of Peyer's patches, a major component of the gut-associated lymphoid tissue. The findings suggests that the RET signaling pathway by regulating the development of both the nervous and lymphoid system in the gut, has a key role in the molecular mechanisms that orchestrate intestine organogenesis.

Foxp3 controls regulatory T-cell function by interacting with AML1/Runx1

Article Abstract:

A reporter construct composed of the 1.6-kb IL-2 promoter, containing the three AML1-binding sites fused to a luciferase reporter gene is prepared to examine the functional responsiveness of the IL-2 promoter to AML1. The interaction between AML1 and Foxp3 might be a potential therapeutic target for controlling physiological and pathological immune responses.

Kissing chromosomes

Article Abstract:

Spilianakis reveal a novel mechanism of gene regulation showing how cells organize their genome to respond efficiently to stimuli. They further show gene on different chromosomes that are destined to be expressed within a common lineage and are brought together in the nucleus.
