chemokine receptor CXCR4 downregulated by von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor pVHL

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates that CXCR4 expression is negatively regulated by the von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor protein pVHL and that it is suppressed under hypoxic conditions leading to hypoxia-inducible factor-dependent CXCR4 activation. Data suggest that activation of CXCR4 during tumor cell evolution leads to VHL inactivation, which confers both selective survival advantage and homing to predetermined organs.

Degradation of the SCF component Skp2 in cell-cycle phase G1 by the anaphase-promoting complex

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to investigate whether APC(super CDH1) is a major regulator of Skp2 in vivo, by monitoring Skp2 levels after experimental reduction of APC activity through depletion of Cdh1. Results gives an insight into the orchestration of SCF and APC activities during cell-cycle progression.

Wrestling with SUMO

Article Abstract:

SUMOylation process is used for specific modification of kainate receptors that has triggered their endocytosis and has regulated synaptic function. The results have added SUMOylation to the list of post-translational molecular mechanisms that regulate glutamate-receptor trafficking.
