A most unseasonable adieu: Three retail chains are closing 29 area stores despite signs of a recovery and the holiday season

Good's Furniture, Seaman Furniture Co. Inc. and Franks Nursery and Crafts Inc., the three retail chains in Springfield announced a total of 29 closings in September 2004, who blame the increasing prices of gasoline and fuel oil associated for their liquidation. According to the Labor Department report, even as the overall economy shows a record of 2,20,000 jobs, the U.S has seen a fall of more than 25,000 clerks, stockers and related personnel.
