Fluorescence quenching kinetics of anthracene covalently bound to poly(methacrylic acid): midchain labeling
Article Abstract:
The fluorescence quenching of poly(methacrylic acid) labeled by anthracene in the middle chain (A-m-PMA) by Tl+ was investigated using different kinetic models. The results were then compared with previously obtained data for 9-ethanolanthracene pendant-labeled poly(methacrylic acid) (9EA-PMA). Results showed that both A-m-PMA and 9EA-PMA exhibit very similar quenching behavior. The most significant difference is that the static quenching is more important for A-m-PMA than 9EA-PMA.

Tuning of fluorescence in films and nanoparticles of oligophenylenevinylenes
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the tuning of fluorescence in films and nanoparticles of oligophenylenevinylenes. The Spex-Fluorolog 222 was utilized to record fluorescence spectra while the Perkin-Elmer Lambda-2 UV/vis spectrometer was used to obtain the absorption spectra. Experimental results indicated that unsubstituted oligophenylenevinylenes exhibited high fluorescence quantum yields in solution.
