Various crystalline morphology of poly(butylenes succinate-co-butylene adipate) in its miscible blends with poly(vinylidene fluoride)
Article Abstract:
Miscibility and crystalline morphology of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/ poly(butylenes succinate-co-butylene adipate) (PBSA) are studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and OM. Crystalline morphology of PBSA is studied by changing blend composition and crystallization conditions and it is found to play a significant role on the thermal, mechanical and other properties of PVDF/PBSA blends.

Changes in calorimetric parameters and solvent accessibility of hydrophobic groups in native and chemically modified immunoglobulin G
Article Abstract:
Differential scanning calorimetry and 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonate-binding spectrofluorimetry have been used to compare heat-induced structural changes and relative changes in the surface hydrophobicity of native and chemically altered immunoglobulin G (IgG) molecules. There is a rise in the surface hydrophobicity index for IgG molecules with a rise in the number of attached alkyl chains.

Denaturation of bovine [beta]-lactoglobulin in the presence of n-octyl-, decyl-, and dodecyldimethylphosphine oxides
Article Abstract:
Denaturation of bovine [beta]-lactoglobulin ([beta]-L) in pH 2.9, 0.2 M glycine buffer is investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) in the presence of three nonionic surfactants, n-octyl, decyl and dodecyldimethylphophine oxides. A protocol is developed that can be used for future studies that involve ligands with large temperature dependent heats of dilution.
