Acxiom in strategic alliance with Bertelsmann

Little Rock, AK-based Acxiom entered into a strategic alliance with Germany-based AZ Bertelsmann Direct in May 2000 to introduce Acxiom's data integration tool, AbiliTec, in Europe. AbiliTec, which was introduced in the US in 1999, is designed to enhance companies' consumer relations management capabilities. The alliance allows Acxiom, which is active in the UK, to enter the German market and tap into AZ Bertelsmann's large database. AZ Bertelsmann, on the other hand, will be able to boost its presence in the UK.

Dutch lists company expands abroad
Article Abstract:
EDM, an international list company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, has expanded into France and the UK to service its clients' accounts in those countries. The company's office in France is in Lille, the heart of the French catalog industry. In the UK, EDM will set up an office in London. According to EDM managing director Jan Evers, the move was prompted by several demands from its international clients to service them in other countries.

Director General resigns as FEDMA tries to restructure

Federation of European Direct Marketing (FEDMA) Director General for Business Development Dirk Frans quit his post after serving the Brussels, Belgium-based organization for two years. Frans was replaced with Alastair Tempest, director general for public affairs. The business development unit of FEDMA undergone difficult times recently after the 1997 merger of two direct marketing organizations, the FEDIM and European Direct Marketing Assn.
