The image of the UK construction industry will receive a much needed boost during April 1999 when a new children's television series is launched called Bob the Builder. The main character is a builder called Bob who loves his job and is willing to save wildlife and the environment in the process of his everyday work. Surviving a stumping chance

Article Abstract:

The Edgbaston area of Birmingham, England, houses many of the city's construction industry companies and is represented in parliament by Conservative MP Dame Jill Knight, who is retiring at the next election. Many among Edgbaston's construction community are undecided about their political affiliations, with the majority believing that little separates the two main parties. Generally, white-collar professionals support the Conservatives while site workers have Labour tendencies.
