Firm mails $50 bills to get attention

Frankenfeld Associates Interactive of Rapid City, SD, has been eliciting a strong positive response from an innovative direct mail campaign that it launched in 1998. The company, which specializes in furnishing expert court testimony for personal injury lawyers, has been mailing crisp, new $50 bills to roughly 25-50 prospects a week as part of efforts to sell an Internet-based marketing service. This service enables accident victims to see how much they could gain by retaining a personal injury lawyer.

Telco boosts telemarketing effieciency with targeting

SaskTel, a telephone company basedin Regina, Saskatchewan, has been using the Valex campaign-management software from Boston, MA-based Exchange Applications to create more targeted telemarketing campaigns. The telephone company has also been using some new data-mining tools from IBM. A company official said the investment on the new technologies has proved to be fruitful, as response rates have been three to four times better with targeted groups than with random groups.
