French direct marketing agency Eto-Basalt is focusing on attracting foreign businesses to France, touting its strength in technology and creativity. Yseult Perilhou, the agency's international accounts manager, said Eto-Basalt has always been interested in new technology from the time they established a database company within the agency group. Perilhou adds that the Internet brought changes to the company, which had to hire more personnel and institute new training programs.

This is especially important in the wake of the adverse media attention being given to the issue of questionable mailing list exchanges and rentals with political organizations on public television. List brokers ought to be aware of the politics of their clients but distance themselves from these political views and issues.
