Profits made by UK civil engineer Balfour Beatty have helped overall performance of the BICC Group for 1992. Balfour's profits increased by 5% to 40 million pounds sterling for 1992. An increase in write-offs has resulted in group 1992 profits being reduced by 4 million pounds sterling to 77 million pounds sterling. Debt has increased by 40 million pounds sterling due to the davaluation of the pound sterling. BICC is hoping to secure the largest contract for the Jubilee Line extension from Green Park to Waterloo.

Schroder Ventures' Richard Winckles has put together deals worth around 51 million pounds sterling in the first few months of 1993.
