Lovell back from the brink
Article Abstract:
UK housebuilder Lovell expects to make a profit of 2 million pounds sterling for 1993 compared to a loss of 12 million pounds sterling in 1992. Lovell's Chief Executive Bob Sellier saved the company from receivership by negotiating a 3 year agreement with bankers. Debt was 55 million pounds sterling at the end of Sep 1992. Overall house sales have increased by 30% and the partnership housing division expects to sell 2,300 units in 1993. Lovell is winding down operations in the US apart from the East Coast where house sales have increased by over 100%.

Outside chance
Article Abstract:
Modern cellular polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products can easily enhance the appearance of a building even though they are generally thought of as being unexciting and plain. Expanded PVC-u trims are used in a range of products such as decorative fascias and bargeboards. They are often selected by property developers to enhance modern housing developments and to replace timber products.
