OgilvyOne Interactive, German shop merge

Advertising agency OgilvyOne merged its interactive agency based in Germany with Germany's largest multi-media agency, Concept. The deal was worth $7.9 million, with OgilvyOne acquiring a 20% stake in Concept. The merger was the fruition of Ogilvy's search for an interactive partner to make the firm a major player in Germany. The merger will provide Ogilvy the needed manpower to meet the demands of its global interactive business while broadening the geographic reach of Concept.

OgilvyOne to push global acquisition spree

OgilvyOne will acquire the ad agency MarCom of Warsaw, Poland, the largest direct marketing agency in Central and Eastern Europe. The acquisition will expand OgilvyOne's global direct marketing operations, particularly in the emerging economies. The company is also setting up direct marketing operations in Budapest and Prague. OgilvyOne, which operates 68 offices in 46 countries, reports annual billings of $1.4 billion.

Insight moves into German computer market
Article Abstract:
Computer hardware and software direct marketer Insight Enterprises has acquired Computerprofis of Frankfurt, Germany, for DM14 million ($8.4 million). Computerprofis, which sells computer products through off-the-page ads in computer publications, posted sales of $50 million in 1998. Insight registered total sales of $891.7 million in 1998. The acquisition is expected to boost Insight's global operations.
