Illinova Energy Partners of Oak Brook, IL, has acquired Quality Energy Services (QES), a Tempe, AZ-based company that manages a natural gas alliance of as many as 250 companies. The acquisition bolsters Illinova's position in Arizona, which utility deregulation is expected to be completed in 2000. Illinova also inherits QES's customer base, thereby expanding Illinova's mailing list used in direct mailing and telemarketing campaigns conducted on behalf of utilities.
