Timewatch: concurrent delays: the current debate
Article Abstract:
In the construction sector lead times for precast concrete and structural steel have risen to 10-12 weeks from one week, while granite precast cladding has seen a one week decrease to 20-24 weeks. Glass curtain walling, stone masonry and boilers have decreases in lead times. Concurrent delays in the construction industry affect completion dates and cause disputes. To help prevent concurrent delays, changes to contracts are needed to define responsibilities more clearly.
