More than 100 new catalogs hit French market in '98
Article Abstract:
French mail-order houses launched 110 new catalogs in 1998 but not all of them were successful. Casualties included Genesis' 'USAProsports Direct' and JD Williams' 'Lady Mary.' Most new books were selling apparel and electronics and around two-thirds of the new catalogs were targeted to consumers. Despite the proliferation of consumer catalogs, business-to- business catalogs recorded solid results.
