Article Abstract:
It is widely known that the abuse of intellectual copyright is common within the construction industry. The practice of contractors asking a specialist to design and tender for a contract and then passing on their prices to competitors who are able to offer lower bids can lead to a round of Dutch auctioning. One victim of intellectual copyright violation is specialist contractor Sprayed Concrete which was asked to price a project by a main contractor. The tender was duly returned, but the main contractor offered the subcontract to another company, which based its tender on Sprayed Concrete's figures.

The power of Ove
Article Abstract:
Ove Arup & Partners consultancy remains true to Ove Arup's founding philosophy of engineering excellence. The practice has been involved in many global projects including the Sydney Opera House. The owning partners set up a trust fund in 1975, and trust status would make it difficult for the company to be taken over. Its profits are invested back into the trust and there are no shareholders.
