Plastic waste may get another chance as chemical feedstock
Article Abstract:
ICI Polyurethane of Everberg, Belgium, and du Vernier of Hoddesdon, UK, have unveiled a pilot recycling facility for polyurethane (PU) in Hoddesdon. The companies will operate the facility, which will use a "split-phase glycolysis" process, for three years before deciding on whether to increase the plant's capacity. The polyurethane recycling facility, which will be supplied with foam PU that have been converted to solid pellets, is expected to produce materials that will be used by the firms to compete in the carpet underlay market.
