Decentralized route to recycling organics
Article Abstract:
Unofficial recycling programs are in operation all over Texas, according to the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission survey (TNRCCS). Many of the programs receive financial aid from local government via the Council of Government. The Master Composter program has taught nearly 4,000 volunteers about urban composting. The TNRCCS has set up a database to maintain details on local recycling programs. However, it does not aim to manage the recycling programmes on a national basis.
