Establishing a financial policy for funding asset replacements
Article Abstract:
R.W. Beck of Seattle, WA, has developed an approach to financial replacement policy formulation for water utilities in Southern California. The approach involves the creation of an inventory of system assets, estimation of useful lives and costs for each assets, preparation of assumptions on cost escalation rates and earnings, incorporation of engineering outputs on useful lives and replacement yeas, creation of a master replacement schedule and simulation of the performance of a sinking fund.

Increasing oxygen concentration in ozone generator feed gas improves watert treatment efficiency
Article Abstract:
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Generator provides a continuous, on-site sypply of oxygen-enriched air in a wide range of flow rates. The device increases oxygen concentration in feed gas, resulting in improved water treatment effectiveness and efficiency. PSA oxgen generator also minimizes the undesirable introduction of nitrogen into the water being treated in ozone generators.
