A telecommuting survival guide

Article Abstract:

An increasing number of employees are able to use alternative work schedules and telecommuting because of new technology. Telecommuting is more popular than job-sharing and flex-time as an alternative work option. There were 15.7 million telecommuters in the U.S. in mid-1998. Each company, each worker and each job must individually analyzed to determine if telecommuting is workable.

Mothers trying to pursue a successful career and family life are advised to get enough information about the firms they are planning to work with in terms of maternal benefits available. They are also advised to tell their employers regarding the type of job situations they would prefer.
