The Restaurant Awards program is a voluntary award ceremony held each year, where restaurants around the world submit their wine lists and supporting materials for judging. The Grand Award winners, one of the awards of the program that is offered to restaurants that offer exceptional wine programs, in 2005 are Cru in New York, Michael Mina in San Francisco, the Greenhouse in London, and Robuchon a Galera in Macao.

Michael Nischan is chef at Manhattan's popular Lexington Avenue W. Hotel, and he also recently became a member of Chef's Collaborative 2000, an organization for food professionals. Nischan has been involved in the development of the New American Farmer Initiative.

Preservation-minded chefs celebrate heirloom tomatoes

Issues are presented concerning the preference which has been expressed by top chefs for traditional varieties of tomatoes. The 90 types of tomato which are used by chefs at the Epicurean Tomato Fete in September 2001 are discussed.
