Pre-packed bread sales rise as pace of life quickens
Article Abstract:
Sales of fresh bread have been affected by the increased popularity of single-serve and long-life products, according to a new report from Euromonitor, a market research group. Germany is the largest consumer of bakery products, with Canada the smallest consumer, although Canada saw higher volume growth between 1991 and 1995. Global sales of bread have improved due to the increase in in-store bakeries, although local bakeries continued to lead sales in Canada, France and Spain.
