The pub is the place to eat
Article Abstract:
The value of food sales in UK public houses has grown by 1 billion pounds sterling since 1992 and in 1997 was valued at 4.8 billion pounds sterling. A study found that public houses are used as food outlets by 41% of adults in the UK particularly those living in the East Midlands. Some 78% of adults questioned felt that pubs offered a quick service and easily available food whilst 66% suggested that pub food was good value for money. Pubs provided a place to take the whole family and also supplied snack meals. During one week in Jun 1997 some 28 million pub meals were served to customers.
