A set of five stamps and a souvenir sheet honoring rugby and the various rugby leagues in New Zealand history are described. A $1.50 stamps depicts two rugby pioneers, George Smith and Albert Baskerville, who first organized a league team, the All Golds, which had a 1907 Australia/UK tour.

Brazil honors the '100th anniversary of volleyball

Article Abstract:

Volleyball began in Mt Hollyoke, MA when a professor of physical education, William G. Morgan introduced the fore-runner of the game known today. The rules of the original game are described as well as how the game spread globally. In 1969, it was included as an Olympic game.

Stamp honors the 75th anniversary of 19th amendment

Article Abstract:

Aug 26, 1995 was the first day of issue for a woman's suffrage stamp. The stamp, commemorating the ratification of the 19th amendment, was issued in Washington, DC. This is the second stamp honoring women's voting rights. Other recent stamp issues honoring women are noted.
