Loss Control: Lost in the Shuffle?
Article Abstract:
There appears to be a growing apathy toward risk control. Underwriting efforts by agents and brokers tend to be on a broad class standard rather than on an individual basis. Agents do not wish to bother insureds with company risk control suggestions even though a good less record is advantageous. Risk/loss control is low priority to operations such as cash flow, employee relations, and marketing. Loss control is not costly. Control implementation can improve loss history thus helping to reduce premium increases.

Bruised and lost in a labyrinth
Article Abstract:
Investment banks are competing for business in Russia, which can be a difficult market. Merrill Lynch carried out preparatory work in 1995 for a government issue of Eurobonds, but the contract was secured by JP Morgan and SBC Warburg. There are 40 million shareholders in the Russian market, in addition to many companies in need of capital, and the market is attractive, despite the risks. Investment banks have problems in assessing who takes decisions with regard to bond issues and the like.

When is a contribution to an IRA worthwhile?
Article Abstract:
An Individual Retirement Arrangement (IRA) is a personal savings plan that defers taxes imposed on its assets. It also offers partial tax deductions for IRA contributors who meet the requirements based on their Modified Adjusted Gross Income. IRA's main advantage is not its first year deduction but on the tax deductions availed of on succeeding years as taxes on the interest, dividends and capital gains of the plan's assets compound yearly.
