Dyadic hostility and ties that bind: State-to-state versus state-to-system security and economic relationships
Article Abstract:
The multiple levels of connection (state-to-state and state-to-system) as well as multiple dimensions of interest (economic and security) have an interactive effect of the probability of two states engaging in conflicting behavior. The results suggest that states consider the aggregate of their security and economic relationships with one another and also the aggregate of their security and economic relationships with the international order.
