III 'Gender' is not enough: the need for a feminist consciousness
Article Abstract:
An argument that gender alone is insufficient for transforming International Relations into a more reliable and useful discipline, is presented. Men's relationship with masculinity affected feminist consciousness, staying intellectually curious about the experiences, action and ideas of women and girls.

I Dominant and destructive masculinities
Article Abstract:
The nature of international political reality with regard to the neglect of gender differences in mainstream International Relations is reviewed. It is suggested that ethical traditions favor one conception of masculinity over another which is a profitable exercise.
