Strategic crossroads in South Asia: the potential roles for missile defense
Article Abstract:
The ongoing arms race between India and Pakistan does not only pose serious threats to South Asian security, but to the entire world as well. Both countries have adopted an aggressive approach in developing ballistic missile programs, which may eventually lead to a third world war. One of the possible solutions to these problems is the transition from an offensive-based nuclear treaty to a defense-oriented doctrine of stability. The use of anti-ballistic missile systems may also prove beneficial, as it may prevent accidental launchings and surprise attacks.

Transatlantic perspectives on extended integrated air defense
Article Abstract:
The US has supported its active defense strategies with substantial resources. This has brought controversies on the viability and feasibility of carrying out such a program. Some of the issues being debated in Congress revolve around technical feasibility, commercial concerns, opportunity costs, and repercussions on strategic arms control.
