Intergenerational equity and third world mining
Article Abstract:
Third world mining should be regulated by an international model of full cost pricing and foreign assistance. Full cost pricing would take into consideration the environmental degradation which market economics ignores and thus allow the costs of pollution control to be borne by the polluters as an equity measure for future generations deprived of the mineral resources. Foreign aid would go to countries which cannot afford pollution cleanup and would be born by industries or benefitting countries. This model could be adopted by a United Nations resolution and avoid the obstacles of treaty negotiations.

The Efficiency and Equity of Corporate Sharing Rules
Article Abstract:
The effect of having a controlling block of stock in a corporation is examined. It is found that a two-tiered market is the result and that minority shareholders receive different treatment than those in control. Because corporate law permits this situation to exist, it is proposed that controlling stockholders be required by rule to share their personal profit with the minority group. Such rules would promote efficiency and equity.
