Ways of implementing changes
Article Abstract:
UK employers can change employees' contractual terms and conditions by mutual agreement, collective bargaining, dismissal and re-engagement, or by acting unilaterally, if allowed to do so under the contracts. Employers making unilateral changes in violation of contract clauses will be considered to have breached the contracts. Changes may be sought to increase productivity or cut expenses, affecting areas such as working hours, relocation, pay structures, and retraining.

Labour rethinks policy on employment rights
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour Party's employment rights document focuses on labor market efficiency, fairness, and flexibility and calls for a review of the industrial tribunal system. The document drops a previous commitment to employee protections tied to the beginning of employment. However, Labour does commit itself to protecting union employees, ending age discrimination, and preventing abuse of self-employed persons or homeworkers.
