Lawyer ethics - one size fits all? A Judicial Conference committee proposes standard rules for federal courts
Article Abstract:
The US Judicial Conference Standing Committee on Rules of Practice drafted proposed rules standardizing attorney conduct and would create nine rules addressing issues commonly arising in litigation, referring lawyers to state rules in other situations. The draft rules largely track the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. To become law, the rules must be approved both by the Judicial Conference and the US Supreme Court.
